Mobile Exhibition on the Impacts of Palm Oil Production

Project Overview
For this assignment, our objective was to develop a mobile exhibition that addresses a pressing environmental issue. We focused on the harmful impacts of excessive palm oil production, particularly its severe repercussions on the environment and wildlife in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Design Concept
Our team designed a 3D model of our mobile exhibit, measuring 42 inches by 8 inches by 10 inches. In my design, I aimed to highlight the historical context, present challenges stemming from human greed. It is my hope that this exhibition will educate visitors and encourage them to rethink their purchasing decisions.

A close-up of my Procreate files showcases the intricately illustrated motifs that reflect the detailed nature and geography throughout the project.

Visual Aesthetics
The color palette and overall aesthetic were deliberately chosen to convey the seriousness of the issue while maintaining an engaging atmosphere. The exhibit features playful colors and animal-themed games at the end, providing a positive outlook on creating a better future.

Interactive Features
Inspired by nature documentaries and scientific literature, the exhibit includes several interactive components designed to engage families and children. Key features include:

  • Interactive Turntables: These allow children to explore different aspects of palm oil production and its effects on wildlife.
  • Water Irrigation Simulations: Visitors can engage with simulations that demonstrate sustainable practices and their impact on the environment.
  • Educational Videos: Curated videos offer insights into the realities of palm oil production and its implications for biodiversity and ecosystems.
