Process

Nosh, a new chef finder and dinner party planning app, sought a brand identity that balances fun, luxury, and modernity with a warm, homey feel. The goal was to connect with users who host dinner parties, offering an experience that is both elegant and approachable.
Understanding the Audience

The target audience was sophisticated adults who value high-quality experiences in their own homes. The design needed to:

  • Reflect luxury without being intimidating.
  • Evoke warmth and familiarity reminiscent of a cozy, well-loved kitchen.
First Drafts

The client appreciated the final option, so I built upon that direction by refining the name and enhancing the design with a greater variety of modernist shapes and food-inspired elements.
Inspiration

The vision was inspired by the "heart of the kitchen": a warm and inviting watch that feels both familiar and special. Key inspirations included:

  • Gradients and tones: Soft, warm palettes commonly found in upscale home kitchens.
  • Food Imagery: Modernist-inspired illustrations of foods crafted from simple geometric shapes, creating a clean, stylish, and contemporary aesthetic.

Final Product

This project emphasized the importance of understanding user emotions when designing for luxury services. The balance of familiarity and elegance is key when designing for a specific audience, especially in the food and hospitality industry.
